BEST PERFORMANCE: Ryan Gravenberch has won the Standard Chartered Player of the Month award for his exceptional performances throughout September

Today, Ryan Gravenberch was named Liverpool’s September Standard Chartered Men’s Player of the Month.

Supporters selected the Netherlands midfielder as the squad’s standout player during a month in which Arne Slot’s team won five out of six games across all competitions.

In the Champions League and Carabao Cup, Gravenberch started five of those games and put on a string of outstanding performances in the middle of the field to help the Reds win both competitions and climb to the top of the Premier League.

He finished ahead of Ibrahima Konate in third position and Luis Diaz in second place in our Player of the Month poll.

“If you win the Player of the Month it’s really nice,” the No. 38 said to Liverpoolfc.com after accepting the award at the AXA Training Centre on Thursday. I’m also a little pleased of myself because it’s my first.

“Clearly, we have excellent players on our team. I believe it’s difficult to choose between Luis [Diaz], who scored four goals in September, but I want to express my gratitude to the supporters for their support.

“I think I had good actions against Bournemouth, but I will go for the game against Milan,” he continued, reflecting on his greatest performance. That was a great team effort in my opinion, but it was also a great individual effort.
