Teddi Mellencamp is undergoing emergency surgery after several tumors were found on her brain, the TV personality revealed on social media Wednesday.
In a statement shared to Instagram, “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum and daughter of singer John Mellencamp said she received her diagnosis after being hospitalized for a series of “severe and debilitating headaches.”
“After a CT scan and MRI, doctors found multiple tumors on my brain, which they believe have been growing for at least 6 months,” the 43-year-old wrote.
Mellencamp said two of her tumors will be surgically removed on Wednesday, while the “remaining smaller tumors will be dealt with via radiation at a later date.”
“I am blessed to be surrounded by my children, family, friends, doctors, nurses and surgeons who are doing everything possible to get me back into better health,” Mellencamp concluded. “Thank you to everybody who has reached out, and to everyone who has supported me along this journey.”
Mellencamp’s health revelation comes a little over a year after the reality TV star underwent surgery to treat her bout with skin cancer. She had previously been open with fans about her battle with Stage 2 melanoma.
In a December 2023 Instagram post, Mellencamp shared that she was recovering from a “wide excision melanoma” and “soft tissue defect reconstruction,” a procedure that removed the affected skin from Mellencamp’s shoulder and “replaced it with a flap of skin from below on my back.”
“The pain and discomfort are all worth it,” Mellencamp wrote at the time. “Please get your skin checked. I promise you do not want to go through this.”
