Jurgen Klopp soaks up the sun with his wife in Ibiza – wearing an extravagant hat

The charismatic German wore the club’s colours with pride during a stay on the sun-kissed island but his headwear is naff to say the least.

Jurgen Klopp joined all the cool kids in Ibiza — rocking a Liverpool training top.

The charismatic German has been kicking back with his wife Ulla Sandrock and some close friends before returning to Merseyside for pre-season.

But his choice of clobber — topped off by a naff umbrella hat — suggests the Reds are never far from mind, even when it comes to a break with his nearest and dearest on the sun-kissed party island.

After pipping Arsenal to fourth place last season, Klopp and his players will be looking to hit the ground running with four major trophies to compete for.

Before the really serious stuff starts, Liverpool have eight friendlies lined up — starting with Tranmere on July 12.

And Klopp has stressed the importance of pre-season ahead of another bumper campaign.

Speaking to the official Liverpool club website , he said: “Usually you always want to take the next step from one year to the next year.

“You have to see how things fit and when the new players are in.

“Young players are one year older, that doesn’t make the biggest difference but being one year longer involved in the first team.

“They can make big steps because they are a little bit settled in a good way. They feel not as excited anymore about each day in training, thinking ‘Oh my god, that’s Adam Lallana next to me’ and things like this. That can be a big difference.

“You have to probably make one or two steps back to then make five or six steps in the right direction. They are the same objectives.”

So while Klopp may be all smiles living it up on holiday, his players are likely to see a whole range of emotions as they prepare for the new season.
